Biography
Mafalda of Pulla-Calabria (1060-Gerona 1108), also known like Mahalta, Mata or Mathilda, was countess consort of Barcelona and Viscountess Consort of Narbonne.
Daughter of Robert Guiscard, Duke of Calabria, and his second wife Sikelgaite of Salerno, and sister of Roger II of Sicily, heir of the duchy of Calabria.
In 1078 she married the Count of Barcelona Ramon Berenguer II, with whom she had the following children:
- Almodis of Barcelona, viscountess consort of Cardona.
- Mafalda of Barcelona, viscountess consort of Fenollet.
- Ramón Berenguer III, count of Barcelona.
She was widowed in 1082 and married the following year with Aymerich I of Narbonne, Viscount of Narbonne. From this marriage was born the future Aymerich II, heir of the viscounty of Narbonne, and Berengar, archbishop of Narbonne.
