Biography
M.R. Ghanoonparvar is a Professor Emeritus of Persian and Comparative Literature at the faculty of Middle Eastern studies at the University of Texas, Austin. In the past he taught at various other universities, including the University of Isfahan, the University of Virginia, and the University of Arizona. Ghanoonparvar is an authority on Persian literature and culture, having published in both English and Persian. In 2013, after forty years, he retired from active teaching.
