Biography
Luis Mariano Montemayor (born 16 March 1956, Buenos Aires, Argentina) is an Argentinian archbishop who serves in the Vatican Diplomatic Corps. He is currently the Apostolic Nuncio to the Democratic Republic of the Congo (since 2015), and before that he was the Apostolic Nuncio to Senegal, Cape Verde, Guinea Bissau, and delegate to Mauritania (2008–2015).
Biography
Born in Buenos Aires, Montemayor was ordained as a priest in November 1985. He entered the Holy See diplomatic service in 1991 and worked in Ethiopia, Brazil, and Thailand. In June 2008 he was appointed the titular archbishop of Illici. That same year he was also appointed as the Apostolic Nuncio to four African countries (Senegal, Cape Verde, and Guinea-Bissau) as well as delegate to Mauritania.
