Biography

Lim Gyoung-wan (Hangul: 임경완, Hanja: 林炅玩; born December 28, 1975 in Busan) is a South Korean relief pitcher for the Sydney Blue Sox in the Australian Baseball League.

Professional career

Upon graduating from Inha University, Lim joined the Lotte Giants in 1998, selected in the first round of the 1998 KBO Draft. As a relief pitcher he garnered attention in 2004 when led the KBO league in holds with 22.

In the 2008 season, Lim became the closer of the Giants. During the season, however, he never overwhelmed hitters as a closer, struggling to save his team's win in the leading situation being able to earn a save. Due to his "dramatic" closing games, Giants fans started to call him the notorious nickname, Lim jakka (Author Lim). Lim finally lost the closer's role to former Rockies setup man David Cortés in August 2008.
