Leonard Sharp (born May 7, 1924) alias Leo Sharp and El Tata is an American World War II veteran and notorious drug dealer that worked for a branch of the Sinaloa cartel. He sold drugs, mostly cocaine, across the United States, mostly in Detroit, Michigan. He gave more than 1,000 pounds of cocaine during his years of dealing.
He was thought to have been an urban legend in Detroit until his arrest in 2013. He pleaded not guilty in October 2013. He was sentenced to three years in prison in May 2014. His defence stated that Sharp has dementia, and will do poorly in prison. Sharp, 89 when captured, is the oldest drug mule in the World.
Sharp was born in Michigan City, Indiana. He was raised in Detroit, Michigan. He fought in World War II and received a Bronze Star Medal for his service.
Sharp's kept his illegal occupation covert working as a world-renowned horticulturist and florist, known for hybridizing popular new breeds of flowers.
