Lenny Montana

Lenny Montana, born as Leonardo Passofaro, was an American actor and professional wrestler. He is best known for his role as Luca Brasi in the iconic film "The Godfather."

Before pursuing acting, Lenny Montana had a successful career as a professional wrestler. He competed in the heavyweight division under the ring name "The Zebra Kid" and his intimidating presence made him a popular attraction in the wrestling world.

Lenny Montana's opportunity in acting came when he was cast as Luca Brasi in "The Godfather." Director Francis Ford Coppola saw Montana's photo in a magazine and was immediately struck by his look. Montana was called for an audition and his portrayal of the fearsome Luca Brasi impressed Coppola, ultimately landing him the role.

In addition to his iconic role as Luca Brasi, Lenny Montana appeared in a few other films throughout his acting career. He had small roles in movies such as "The Balloon Vendor" and "Save the Tiger." However, it was his portrayal of Luca Brasi that left a lasting impression on audiences worldwide.
