Biography
Latifa El Hachem is a Lebanese Artist and Product Designer. At the age of 17, she got married. Seven years later, her husband passed away during the Lebanese war. Alone without any income or fortune, she stood up to work to raise her two daughters and gain a living.
During this period, she attended a night school to continue her studies. At the same time, she worked in different fields. At the Saints Coeurs Institution, she studied Art Plastic to continue her distance studies and graduated from Ecole des Beaux-Arts - La Rochelle, France.
In 2002, she launched her atelier Latifa Art in Beirut. In her atelier, the main component to work on was Pewter. The concept was to bring life to such cold, constant, and stable metal. Later, she started painting on wood, glass, and canvas.
Along with her atelier, she worked on different projects. She designed and produced giveaway gift items for banks and companies, participated in many exhibitions, and shared programs to empower women and encourage children to discover the creative minds they have.
Beauty is her inspiration; history is her inspiration. Everything that catches her eye can be an inspiration. For her, painting is a way of communicating and expressing herself.
Through her paintings, she tries to express her feelings, how she sees the world, and connect with the viewers emotionally, hoping to capture the moment on canvas, leaving them free to understand it as they see it.
