Biography
Kushal Srivastava is an Indian film writer, director and producer. Srivastava started as an advertisement director and later moved to feature films. He is making his directorial debut with the film Vodka Diaries , releasing in 2017.
Early life and education
Kushal Srivastava was born in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, India. His father P.P. Srivastava worked as an Assistant Engineer at Irrigation Department in U.P.Government. Srivastava did his early schooling in Lucknow. He joined Indian Air Force in 1999. He completed his combat training in Belgaum and worked Indian Air Force for 6 and half year as Non commissioned officer in Logistics department. Srivastava was part of Indian Air Force Day parade continuous three years in Delhi. He was also attached to President house for guard of honour Parade. Srivastava completed his MBA from Symbiosis Institute, Pune in defence category.
Due to his desire to become a Film Director, Srivastava left his job and came to mumbai and stayed with his Uncle Comedian Raju Srivastava. Srivastava enrolled himself into a Film making course at the Mumbai Educational Trust, Mumbai. He completed Post graduation in film making in 2006. While pursuing his PG at MET, he started directing short films and he bagged the Best Short Film Award at the 16:9 International Film Festival by the hands of famous Bollywood actor Aamir Khan.
Career
Srivastava started his career as Chief Assistant Director to J. P. Dutta. He joined JP Films and assisted him in writing.
Srivastava also assisted to Anurag Basu in few Ad films. After working with Anurag Basu, Srivastava started as an advertisement director and later moved to feature films. Srivastava founded his production company, Flying Dreams Entertainment Pvt Ltd; and made various TV commercials featuring Ronit Roy, Hema Malini, Shazahn Padamsi, Kalki Kochlin, Yaana Gupta, Claudia Cisla, Shweta Tiwari, Raju Srivastava, Adesh Srivastava, Kailash Kher. He has made television commercials for Madame, Duke Fashions, Monte Carlo, Hero Cycle, Avon Cycle, World-cup Casuals, Redhill, Tata Nano, Email.biz, Profit.biz, Cotton County, Joy of Giving, SAI NGO, Dignity Foundation, Chip-in, Glenmark and many other brands. He made various music videos with singers like Kailash Kher, Pankaj Udhas, Jaswinder Singh, Manjusha Kulkarni Patil & Pooja Gaitonde.
Now is making his directorial debut with the film Vodka Diaries, starring Kay Kay Menon, Raima Sen, Mandira Bedi & Sharib Hashmi. Film is under post production and supposed to be released in 2017.
