Biography
Kim McCarty (born February 10, 1956 in Los Angeles, CA) is a watercolor painter, artist living and working in Los Angeles, CA. McCarty's work has been exhibited in over 20 solo exhibitions in New York and Los Angeles. She works in layers of monochromatic colors.
Personal life
McCarty began working with the watercolor medium in 1993 after her studio was destroyed by a fire. She could no longer find a space with proper ventilation for working with oil paint. She works in a wet-on-wet technique, normally associated with oil painting, in which the paint is applied to a moistened sheet of paper.
