Kim Coleman (born July 11 in New Orleans, Louisiana) is an American politician and a Republican member of the Utah House of Representatives representing District 42 since January 1, 2015.
Early Life and Education
Coleman was born in New Orleans, Louisiana. She received degrees in Sociology and Psychology and a certification in Criminology from the University of Utah as well as completing graduate coursework in Addictions Counseling. She currently lives in West Jordan, Utah with her husband Joel and five children.
Political career
2014 Coleman defeated incumbent Jim Bird in the Republican convention and won the November 4, 2014 General election against Democratic nominee Nicholas DeLand with 4,804 votes (69.5%).
During the 2016 General Session Coleman served on the Higher Education Appropriations Subcommittee, House Education Committee, and House Political Subdivisions Committee. During the interim she serves on the Political Subdivisions Interim Committee and the Revenue and Taxation Interim Committee.
