Kenneth Alphonso Kelly (born January 26, 1979 in Plant City, Florida) is a former Major League Baseball outfielder who played in the major leagues for the Tampa Bay Devil Rays, Cincinnati Reds, and Washington Nationals. He had also been a quarterback for the University of Miami football team.
He was also with the Seattle Mariners, but in 2003 he was traded to the New York Mets for Rey Sánchez.
Kelly is now involved with various nonprofits helping kids understand the game of life.
High school years
Kelly attended Tampa Catholic High School in Tampa, Florida and was a student and a letterman in football, basketball, baseball, and track. In football, he finished his high school career with 7,486 passing yards and 77 passing touchdowns. Kenneth Alphonso Kelly graduated from Tampa Catholic High School in 1997.
