Keisha Nash Whitaker

Keisha Nash Whitaker (born 8 March 1972) is an American actress and producer. She is known for producing "Kassim the Dream" -- a documentary on the life of Uganda boxer Kassim Ouma.

Early life

Whitaker was born Keisha Simone Nash on March 8, 1972 in Boston, Massachusetts.

Career

In 1999, Keisha was profiled in the biographical television documentary, Intimate Portrait. Other people featured that year were noted Hollywood actors such as Kevin Costner, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and John Travolta.

In 2004, she was seen in Mary Pat Kelly-directed drama, Proud, starring Reggie Austin and Vernel Bagneris in the lead roles.

In 2008, she was seen in the reality television show, Who Are You Wearing? –– a reality TV show in which aspiring clothes designers compete to dress a celebrity. The 10-episode series featured famed celebrities such as Brooke Burke, Sara Evans, and Stacy Keibler.

The same year she and her husband at the time, Forest Whitaker, executive-produced Kassim the Dream –– a biographical documentary on the life and struggles of Ugandan boxing champion, Kassim Ouma. The documentary was directed by Kief Davidson and Yann Gael was the voice behind Kassim Ouma.

Personal life

Keisha's second marriage was with American actor Forest Whitaker, on 4 May 1996. The marriage ended in a divorce after 22 years, on 27 December 2018. The couple had two children: Sonnet Noel Whitaker (born 3 October 1996) and True Whitaker (born 2 July 1998.)

Keisha has a daughter Autumn (born 1991) from a previous marriage.
