Kathy Watanabe

Kathy Watanabe is a member of the Santa Clara, California city council. She was appointed on March 7, 2016 by a vote of 4-2 by the then current council members, then won the city council election in November 2016 with 48% of the vote to keep her seat. There has been some criticism that the Santa Clara city council remains all white, however she is also the only councilmember representing the Northside of the city. She is on the Downtown Revitalization Plan, Ethics, and Marketing committees.
