Kaci Aitchison is an American news presenter and reporter, based in Seattle, Washington.
Early life and education
Aitchison was born in Seattle, Washington.
She attended the University of Washington and received a degree in Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Communications/Political Science, in 2001. At the university, she was a part of Golden Key Honor Society, Phi Eta Sigma, and Alpha Gamma Delta.
Journalism career
Aitchison began her career in 1999, as a college intern on CBS radio. She worked with CBS for around 10 years, and over the years, she was promoted to News Director. She also co-hosted on The Bob Rivers morning show on KZOK-FM.
After leaving CBS, in 2009 she joined Q13 FOX News, Seattle, where she was a Features Reporter on This Morning show. In 2013, she was voted Best Local TV Personality in Western Washington by King 5. The next year, she was nominated for a Northwest Regional Emmy Award for her special "The Road to We Day,” a special on local youth community involvement.
Besides being a news presenter, Aitchison is also an accomplished improvisor and actor. She was a member of the Jet City Improv cast. She co-created and improvised show Dirty Laundry, which went on to perform at the Chicago Improv Festival, Seattle Festival of Improv Theater and others.
In 2006, she starred in the sketch "Tom & Tina," on JibJab’s The Great Sketch Experiment. The show was directed by John Landis.
In August 2013, Aitchison served as back-stage host for The International, an annual Dota 2 eSports tournament hosted by Valve Corporation.
In November 2016, when Aitchison was with Q13 Fox News, she tested Google’s AI game, Quick, Draw!. She was asked to draw a cannon in 20 seconds. She took the challenge and her faux-pas went viral.
