Jacobus Willem Jonker (born 19 March 1987) is a former South African rugby union footballer that played with theCheetahs andLions in Super Rugby and theFree State Cheetahs,Griffons,Pumas andGriquas in domestic rugby between 2006 and 2017.
Rugby career
He plays mostly as a centre. He represented theCheetahs in Super Rugby and theFree State Cheetahs.Griffons andPumas in the Currie Cup and Vodacom Cup.
Jonker announced his retirement in 2013 due to a chronic ankle injury, aged 25. However, he returned to the playing field in 2014 and was included in theLions squad for the 2014 Super Rugby season.
He played the remainder of the 2014 Currie Cup Premier Division season for thePumas before signing a contract to joinGriquas for the 2015 season and play for theCheetahs in the 2015 Super Rugby season.
He retired in 2017.
