Judith van der Klip

Judith van der Klip, is a Dutch pop and crossover violinist. When Van der Klip was five years old her parents bought her first violin and she soon learned to play. At the age of eleven she started touring with orchestras and bands like the Haydn Youth StringOrchestra, The Ricciotti Ensemble and Blaudzun. After leaving home she enrolled at the University of Groningen to study Arts Culture and Mediabut soon decided to audition for the conservatory where she later graduated as a classical violinist at ArtEZ University of the Arts.
As a touring musician Judith traveled through Europe and America and is regularly seen and heard on Radio and TV. Judith also performed at festivals like Pinkpop (NL), Lowlands (NL), Sziget (HU), Hurricane (DE), Bråvalla (SE), SXSW (US) and Pukkelpop (BE). As a solo-instrumentalist she performs regularly in the EDM scene. She worked or recorded with i.a. Bobby Kimball (Toto), The Trammps, Armin van Buuren, Blaudzun, Brennan Heart, Ruben Block (Triggerfinger), Stef Bos, Zenga, Tangarine, Eller van Buuren, Cor Bakker, Malando, Elle Bandita, Joost van den Broek, Paul Potts, Katherine Jenkins, Koen Herfst and many others.
Judith plays a Cuypers violin provided for her by the Dutch Musical Instruments Foundation(NMF). On being asked in an interview in Music Maker Magazinewhy she loves to play this instrument so much she replied that this old violin has a lovely rich tone and long history of violinists who played it before her.
In 2016 Van der Klip was asked as an Artist in Residence for Hedon where she specializes in lecturing and coaching young talented individuals and groups.
