Josh Golden (born 1994) is an American singer/songwriter and actor.
Early life and education
Golden was born on August 4, 1994, in Chesterfield, St. Louis County, Missouri, to John Golden and Cathy Golden. His father, a chiropractor by profession, is a former classical guitarist and mother, a former jazz musician. He has two sisters, Liz and Anne, and a brother, John Jr. Liz and John Jr. are singers, as well.
Growing up in a musical family, Golden became interested in playing music at an early age. By the age of 10, he was playing the guitar and the drums and had begun singing by the age of 12.
He was homeschooled by his mother. Later, he attended St. Louis Elementary School and Marquette High School.
Career
Golden launched his musical career on the internet, posting his music videos on YouTube and myspace starting 2008. In July 2009, he released his first self-published album titled "Josh Golden." The same year, he got the chance to open for singer Mitchel Musso at The Pageant music venue in St. Louis.
Golden shot to fame in late 2009 when he competed in the Season Two of Radio Disney's "Next Big Thing," hosted by "Sonny With A Chance" star Tiffany Thornton. He competed against Jasmine, Cymphonique Miller, H.E.R. (Gabriella Wilson) and the band Palaye Royale (known as Kropp Circle then.) Jasmine was announced the winner with Cymphonique Miller taking the second place.
In addition, Golden also acts and has appeared as himself in Bob Thunder: Internet Assassin (2015) and as “Jimmy Batzakidou” in 2010 TV movie Pizza & Karaoke (director Chip McAllister), among others.
