Biography

José Antonio Patlán Valtierra (born January 12, 1983) is a Mexican footballer, who plays as a Centre Back and as a Defensive Midfielder.
He debuted in a match against Club Toluca on 29 April 2006; Toluca won the match 2-0 [1]. He played in the Clausura 2006, when Chivas lost 6 of their starting players to the Mexico national team (Oswaldo Sanchez, Gonzalo Pineda, Ramon Morales, Omar Bravo, Francisco Javier Rodriguez and Carlos Salcido); already in training for the FIFA World Cup 2006. Chivas was already qualified for the playoffs of the tournament and was also playing in Copa Libertadores, so the team started the World Cup tournament with young players for the Clausura 2006 playoffs and the more experienced for the Libertadores. Patlan was one of the most praised players by the media.
In Apertura 2006, he became champion with Chivas, and he started to be a more consistent back-up Defender for the Rojiblancos.
