John Woodrow Wilson

John Woodrow Wilson (1922–2015) was an American lithographer, sculptor, painter, muralist, and art teacher whose art was driven by the political climate of his time. He grew up in Boston, where he cultivated his love for arts and studied in Mexico, New York. His reaction to art he saw as a teenager was that, "None of these people looked like me and just by omission the implication was that black people were not capable of being beautiful and true and precious", Wilson said. He eventually returned to Boston to teach.
