Biography
John McPheters is an entrepreneur and business executive. He is the co-founder of the sneakers and streetwear marketplace Stadium Goods.
Career
McPheters obtained a BA in Advertising from Boston University and an MBA from Fordham University in 2009. From 2012 to 2015, he held the role of VP of Business Development at the sneaker retail company Fight Club. In 2009, he took on the role of Digital Director at the marketing company Team Epiphany, overseeing Nike's social media operation.
In 2012, in collaboration with Jed Stiller, McPheters co-founded a venture capital firm focused on e-commerce and technology investments, SM Ventures. Through SM Ventures, he became a partner and angel investor in Swarm Mobile – an enterprise technology company, acquired by Groupon in 2014.
In 2015, McPheters and Stiller co-founded Stadium Goods, a company selling sneakers and streetwear online and in-store in SoHo, New York City. McPheters and Stiller share the role of Stadium Goods’ CEO. Following a $4.6m Series A funding round led by Forerunner Ventures in 2017 and backing from LVMH Luxury Ventures in 2018, Stadium Goods was acquired by the online luxury fashion retail company Farfetch in January 2019 for $250m.
In 2018, McPheters and Stiller were selected for the Business of Fashion 500 list, the WWD 40 of Tomorrow, and the Footwear News Power 150.
