John Essien

John Essien is a Ghanaian broadcast journalist with Focus FM. He is currently the news editor of the official radio station of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.[1]

John Essien was born to John Essien and Gladys Nkrumah and hails from Bremang in the Ashanti region of Ghana. He is the fourth among six siblings.[2] John Essien began his media career in 2016 in Kumasi when he joined a campus-based radio station, Focus FM, while at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.[3][4] He rose through the ranks from a journalist, News anchor, talk show host, and eventually became the News editor of the station.[5] John Essien later joined Class FM as the Ashanti regional correspondent in 2018.[6][7][8]
