Biography
James A. "Jim" Coleman (October 30, 1911 – January 14, 2001), was a Canadian sports journalist. A nationally syndicated columnist for the Southam Newspapers (later known as CanWest News Service), he won the Elmer Ferguson Memorial Award in 1984 and is a member of the media section of the Hockey Hall of Fame. He also wrote for the Winnipeg Tribune, Edmonton Bulletin, and Globe and Mail. His column was syndicated in 1950. Coleman was a member of the Order of Canada, Canadian News Hall of Fame, Canadian Horse Racing Hall of Fame, Canada Sports Hall of Fame and Canadian Football Hall of Fame. He also hosted the The Jim Coleman Show from 1959 to 1960.
