Biography
Jeremy Konner is an American director, writer and producer based in Los Angeles. He co-created, directs, and executive produces the Emmy award winning Comedy Central series Drunk History. He also serves as Director and Executive Producer of Comedy Central's Another Period.
Early life
Konner grew up in Los Angeles, California. He is the son of American television writer Lawrence Konner and brother of Girls showrunner and Lenny Letter co-creator Jennifer Konner. Konner graduated from Sarah Lawrence College.
Career
Drunk History
Konner and Drunk History co-creator Derek Waters initially released the historical sketches in a series of YouTube clips, later picked up by online comedy website Funny or Die. Drunk History: Douglass and Lincoln won the Jury Prize in Short Filmmaking at the Sundance Film Festival in 2010. Drunk History premiered as a half-hour program on Comedy Central in 2013. The show is currently filming its fifth season.
Another Period
Konner directs and executive produces the gilded-age mock reality show Another Period, created by Riki Lindhome and Natasha Leggero.
Other work
Konner has directed and produced various films, webseries and documentaries including the Yahoo! Series Ghost Ghirls, D Tour: A Tenacious Documentary, and Donald Trump's The Art of the Deal: The Movie. His newest project is a documentary series focusing on comedians and the history of comedy, which is in development with Comedy Central.
