Jennifer "Jen" Halley (born 1971) is a Canadian actress and producer, best known for portraying the character of "Seelix" in the TV series Battlestar Galactica.
Early life
Jen Halley was born on 8 January 1971 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. She has a younger sister, Nora, and two younger half-brothers.
She attended Lord Byng Secondary School in Vancouver and modeled internationally as a teenager.
Career
Acting
Halley made her acting debut in 1999 in the role of "Casey" in romance-comedy Limp. Two years later, in 2001, she was seen in a minor role of a waitress in the comedy film Lunch with Charles, starring Nicholas Lea, Theresa Lee, and Ching Wan Lau.
In 2001, she landed the recurring role of "Brie" in The Chris Isaak Show. She was seen in 9 episodes from 2001 to 2004. In the same period, she also appeared in an episode each of Stargate SG-1 (2001), Wolf Lake (2001), and Tru Calling (2004).
In 2005, she was cast in her most memorable role of Ensign Diana 'Hardball' Seelix in Michael Rymer's famed TV series Battlestar Galactica; she appeared in 22 episodes of the series.
Halley was last seen on the silver screen in 2014 in the "Smitty Rules" episode of the TV series Kits These Days.
Production
As a producer, Halley produced two short films: Sarah in the Dark (2008), starring Michael Eklund and Emily Holmes; and The Closer You Get to Canada (2010), starring Gordon Tootoosis and Alex Diakun.
