Janet Schmalfeldt

Janet Schmalfeldt on yhdysvaltalainen pianisti ja musiikintutkija. Hän on tutkinut erityisesti musiikin muotorakenteita ja musiikilliseen muotoon liittyviä filosofisia kysymyksiä. Janet Schmalfeldt työskentelee tällä hetkellä emeritaprofessorina Tuftsin yliopistossa.

Janet Schmalfeldtin kirjalle In the Process of Becoming: Analytic and Philosophical Perspectives on Form in Early Nineteenth-Century Music (2011) myönnettiin vuonna 2012 sekä Society for Music Theory -yhdistyksen Wallace Berry Award -palkinto että The American Society of Composers, Authors & Publishers -yhdistyksen ASCAP Deems Taylor Award -palkinto.
