Jamshed Bharucha

Jamshed Bharucha is an Indian-American psychologist, cognitive scientist, and musician. He has served as the President of The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art, and as the President of Bard College.

Jamshed Bharucha earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in cognitive science and music from Cornell University. He then went on to pursue a doctorate in cognitive psychology from Harvard University.

Jamshed Bharucha began his academic career as a faculty member at Stanford University, where he taught psychology and neuroscience. He later served as the Provost and Senior Vice President of Tufts University. He then went on to become the President of The Cooper Union, followed by the President of Bard College.

Jamshed Bharucha has been an advocate for higher education and has worked towards increasing access to education for all students. He has focused on interdisciplinary education and the importance of liberal arts in the curriculum. He has also been involved in initiatives to improve diversity and inclusion in higher education institutions.

In addition to his academic and administrative roles, Jamshed Bharucha is an accomplished musician. He is a pianist and has performed at various venues and events. He is also a strong advocate for arts and culture, and has worked towards promoting the arts in education.
