Biography
James Musoni is a Rwandan politician, who has served as the cabinet minister of Infrastructure since 24 July 2014. In the cabinet reshuffle of 31 August 2017, he was retained in the cabinet and he retained his portfolio.
Background and education
He holds a Bachelor of Commerce, awarded by Makerere University in [[Kampala], Uganda. He also holds a Master of Business Administration from Newport International University, in Los Angeles. His Certificate in Public Finance Management was obtained from the John F. Kennedy School of Government of Harvard University, in Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA.
Career
From 2000 until 2001, James Musoni served as the Deputy Commissioner General of Rwanda Revenue Authority (RRA). He was then promoted to Commissioner General of Rwanda Revenue Authority, serving in that capacity from 2001 until 2005.
He was appointed to the Rwandan cabinet for the first time on 8 June 2005, as State minister for Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, Tourism and Cooperatives, serving in that capacity until 2006. He was then appointed Minister of Finance and Economic Planning from 2006 until 2009. He was then promoted to full Cabinet minister in the same ministry on 20 August 2005, where he served for about eight months before he transferred to the Ministry of Finance as cabinet minister serving there from 2006 until 2009. He then served as the Minister of Local Government from 2009 until 2014.
