Biography
Iris Van Riet (Sint-Niklaas, 24 april 1952) is een Belgisch politica van Open Vld en voormalig senator.
Levensloop
Van Riet is licentiate in de politieke en de sociale wetenschappen aan de Rijksuniversiteit Gent. Beroepshalve is zij directrice van het Vlaams Centrum voor Volksontwikkeling.
Ze werd politiek actief bij Open Vld en was vanaf 1995 nationaal voorzitter van VLD-Vrouwen. Van 1999 tot 2003 zetelde zij tevens in de Senaat als opvolger van Guy Verhofstadt.
