Biography
Ibrahim Ahmad Maqari, (born 15 September 1976) is an Islamic Scholar, Imam National Mosque of Nigeria, and the Founder of Tazkiyyah Educational Resource Center, Abuja and Tazkiyah Schools.
Early Life and Education
Ibrahim Maqari was born in Zaria, Kaduna, Nigeria. He finished his primary Education in Katsina in 1987 and later proceeded to Jama`atu College of Arabic Studies in Zaria for his secondary education. His first degree was from the famous Al-Azhar University, Cairo in 1999. As a student in Al-Azhar, he was at the forefront of coordinating religious activities geared towards fostering unity among Muslims.
Ibrahim Maqari began what was to be acknowledged as wonderful working career of lecturing in the famous Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria in 1999. In 2001, he moved to nurture the young Jama`atu Institute for Advanced Studies, Zaria and thereafter picked up a job with Federal College of Education Zaria where he also obtained Post Graduate Diploma in Education in 2004.
In 2005, he obtained his master's degree from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. In an unusual manner, he completed his Doctorate Degree within the span of two years from Bayero University Kano, in 2009.
In 2006, because of his commitment and dedication to the advancement of Arabic and Islamic Education in Nigeria, he accepted the offer to lecture at the Nigeria Arabic Language Village, Ngala, which is located in a remote border village in Borno State. In 2010 he returned home and was appointed a senior lecturer at Kaduna State University.
After a year, Ibrahim Maqari moved to his Alma Mata, Bayero University Kano where he is now serving as an Associate Professor. Despite his academic commitments, Maqary was appointed the Deputy Chief Imam of the National Mosque Abuja in 2012. As the Deputy Chief Imam, he straddles between Abuja, Zaria and Kano on a weekly basis.
Maqary has to his credit over 20 publications in reputable Journals and has published numerous books. He is married with children.

Ibrahim Maqary has held many debates and lectures around the world. He has also attended several national and international conferences, seminars and workshops either as participant or resource person. Many of his lectures are recorded and widely distributed in video and DVD media and online.
