Hieron (Graece Ἱέρων), qui saeculo IV a.C.n. exeunte floruit, Antigoni Monophthalmi coaevus, fuit anno fere 309/308 a.C.n. huius regis sectator; ille enim cum Machaone et Sopoli eo anno a Polemaeo iuxta Iasum positus est ad hanc urbem defendendam. Inscriptio Iasia foedera refert inter hos milites, pro urbe agentes, et Ptolemaeum.
