Biography

Hector d'Andigné de Grandfontaine (bap 17 May 1627 – 6 July 1696) was the governor of Acadia from 1670 - 1673.
One of the first important duties of Andigné was to arrange the actual return of settlements to France as required by the Treaty of Breda in 1667. Among the locations that were specifically transferred in 1670 were Port-Royal, Port-La Tour, and Fort Pentagouet.
