Biography
Mohammad Omran Al Shamsi has 35 years of work experience with Etisalat, retiring as the Chief Executive Officer and Chairman in 2012.
Early life and education
In 1977, he graduated from Cairo University with a degree in Electronics and Communications.
Board positions
He is currently a member of the Board of Emirates Foundation, member of the Board of Governor of Khalifa University of Science Technology & Research and Chairman of the Board of Directors for Ras Al Khaimah Properties Company. He is also the Chairman and Chancellor of the Higher Colleges of Technology in the status of a minister and chairman governors of RAK Medical & Health Services University.
Since 2015 he has been serving as chairman of The National Bank of Ras Al Khamah.
Since 2016 he has been serving as director of the UAE Banks Federation.
Currently he holds the position of the chairman at the Rakban.
Awards
In 2010 he was awarded the International CEO Award by the International Telecommunications Awards. He also won the Lifetime Achievement Award from CEO Middle East Conference.
