Biography
Harvey Berger (born 6 June 1950) is an American philanthropist, entrepreneur, physician-scientist and biotechnology expert.
He founded ARIAD Pharmaceuticals, Inc. where he led the development of various treatment forms for coronary heart disease, acute and chronic leukemia, lung cancer and other types of cancers that are difficult to treat. He also served as Executive Chairman at Medinol Inc.
Dr. Berger has been appointed as a member of the Board of Trustees at Concord Academy and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, has served as a professor at Yale University, Emory University, the University of Pennsylvania, and was a member of the Dean’s Council at Yale University.
Harvey Berger received his A.B. degree in Biology from Colgate University, then an M.D. degree from Yale University. He continued his research and medical training at Massachusetts General Hospital and Yale-New Haven Hospital.
Harvey lives between New York and Palm Beach with his wife, Chrysanthi, and his two daughters, Isabella and Nicole.
