Biography
Haruka (遼花) is a Japanese singer-songwriter and guitarist. Born and raised in Tokyo, she started listening to rock music in her junior high school years and decided to become a musician. She released her first single Mune ni Kibō o (Keep Hope In Your Heart) in 2008 under a Japanese major record company Pony Canyon. The song was used as the opening theme for the anime Blue Dragon. In March 2008, she released her second single Kimi no Mikata (On Your Side). After some conflicts with her label about her songwriting and musical styles, she decided to end the contract with the company. After a silence of 5 years, she came back to the music industry in 2013, releasing a mini-album Hymns To My Soul. On October 29, 2014, she put out her first full-length album Anthems. Having spent some years of her youth in Australia, she is fluent in English. She also speaks French and has had some interviews in French.
In October 2014, she had her first concert in Europe at an expo Mondocon held in Budapest, Hungary before an audience of 2,000 people.
Prior to releasing her 1st single Mune ni Kibō o at the age of 19, she had worked as a lyricist. At the age of 16, she wrote lyrics for 2 songs on the 1st single of Aina, who is also a Japanese female singer.
