Gustav Schreiber (December 25, 1916—March 5, 1995) was a German SS officer.

Gustav Schreiber was born on December 25, 1916, in Selm, Germany, and died on March 5, 1995, in Schwelm, Germany, at 78.

Schreiber was awarded the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross for his extreme battlefield bravery/successful military leadership by Nazi Germany during World War II. He was also one of only 631 men to be awarded the Close Combat Clasp in Gold for 50 days of hand-to-hand combat.

  • November 1943: SS-Hascha, stellvert. Führer, 7. Kompanie, SS-Panzergrenadier-Regiment 9 'Germania', 5. SS-Panzer-Division 'Wiking'
  • June 12, 1943: awarded the RK for his behavior during the operations near Stalino along the Mius
  • December 1943: promoted to SS-Untersturmführer
  • February 1944: captured during the defensive battle of the Cherkasy, Ukraine - Soviet POW.
