Biography

Gregory J. Hayes (born 1960/61) is an American businessman, the chairman and CEO of United Technologies since September 2016. He holds the distinction of being the first chief executive to make a deal with President Trump after the 2016 Presidential election.

Career

Hayes received a bachelor's degree in economics from Purdue University.

Hayes became CEO of United Technologies in November 2014, when he took over from Louis R. Chênevert as CEO, following his abrupt resignation. He became chairman in September 2016.

Since January 2017, he has been a member of President Trump's American Manufacturing Council.
