Biography
Greg Duplantis (born January 22, 1962) is an American athlete, specializing in pole vault.
In 1980, Duplantis represented the US during the Pan-American Junior Championships held in Greater Sudbury, Canada. In 1990, he won a bronze at the US Nationals. His best performance was 5.80m (July 1, 1993, in Aarhus, Denmark).
After retiring from sports, Duplantis now works as a lawyer in Lafayette, Louisiana. He has undergraduate and law degrees from Louisiana State University.
Personal life
Duplantis married Swedish heptathlete Helena Duplantis in August 1987. The two met at Louisiana State University after she had moved to the United States for education.
Their sons Andreas (born in 1993) and Armand (born in 1999), are both pole vaulters and represent Sweden. Armand is the current world outdoor and indoor record holder, two-time Olympic (2020 and 2024) champion, two-time World outdoor (2022 and 2023), and two-time indoor champion.
