Biography
Gona Gannareddy (1262-1296AD), sometimes spelled Gonaganna Reddy, was a ruler of the Vaddemani Kingdom during Kakatiya dynasty in the Deccan Plateau. He is son of King Gona Budda Reddy who contributed Ranganatha Ramayanam as Dwipada kavyam in Telugu Language and one of the few ruling queens Rani Rudrama Devi in Indian history. He conquered Raichur and constructed a fort during the rule of Kakatiya dynasty. A 400-page Kakatiya historical novel was written by Adavi Baapiraju in 1946.
