Biography

George W. Dick (born March 28, 1964, Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago) also known as "G-Wiz" is an American writer, actor, director, and musician who wrote the 1987 Billboard top ten R&B hit "She's Fly" (performed by Tony Terry).

Biography

G-Wiz moved to the United States with his parents at the age of 5. He graduated from Duke Ellington School of the Arts in Washington, D.C. 1983. That same year he was the first person in Washington, D.C. to receive the Presidential Scholar of the Arts award. During high school, he performed in the DC area dance troop The T-N-T Poppers with classmates Kevin Hammond and Angela Williams-Coles.

After attending Howard University for a short time, G-Wiz moved to New York City to pursue an acting career. He was also songwriting on the side. In 1987 he was able to get his song "She's Fly" onto Tony Terry's debut album Forever Yours. The song went to number ten on the Billboard U.S. R&B Singles chart and to number 80 on the U. S. Billboard Hot 100.

Since then, G-Wiz has been acting, producing music, and writing screenplays and music for television and film.
