Biography
Georg Schmidt (30 September 1709 – 2 Augustus 1785) was 'n Duitse sendeling wat deur die Morawiese kerk gestuur is om die evangelie aan die Koi mense te verkondig. Hy is op 30 September 1709 in Kunewalde (Morawië) gebore en sterf op 2 Augustus 1785 in Niesky in der Oberlausitz (Duitsland).
Hy het Genadendal in 1738 gestig nadat hy hom op die 23 April 1738 in die Baviaanskloof gevestig het.
