Biography
Gabriela Lima is an Emmy award winning Brazilian filmmaker based in Los Angeles, California. She is a passionate and enthusiastic filmmaker with experience writing, directing, producing and shooting a variety of films, commercials, shorts and TV shows. Gabriela has always held a passion for Psychological Thrillers and Historical Dramas. The movies and shows she creates focus on making statements about current controversial topics, and her vision primarily focuses on internal conflicts.
Filmmaker Gabriela Lima graduated at the age of 16. She spent the next two years traveling the world, learning English, then squeezing a four-year program at Full Sail University into two years, before heading to Los Angeles, California.
Gabriela Lima has had the opportunity of working with major networks, including: Fastest Car (Netflix), American Idol (ABC) and the show Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath (A&E), which earned an Emmy for Outstanding Hosted Nonfiction Series or Special (2020). She opened the production company Set Vision Studios and is currently working to bring more representation of Latino culture to the screens.
Currently, Gabriela is working hard to bring the story of a hero from her own country to the screen. With her film projects impressing the Film Festival circuit, she believes it is only a matter of time until a film with a latino woman protagonist becomes reality. Her experience telling stories has made her want to show the world the hardships of being an immigrant.
