Gábor Báthory frekventis lernejon enKecskemét, poste altlernejon en Debrecen fine li lernis en universitatoj de Germanio kaj Svislando. Hejmenveninta li estis pastro laŭvice en Tass,Dunapataj,Pest (urbo). En la lasta urbo li estis ankaŭ eklezia subnotario. En1808 li jam estis ĉefnotario. Li estis elektita episkopo en 1814.
