Biography
Fred Landman (Hebrew: פרד לנדמן; born October 28, 1956) is a professor of semantics at Tel Aviv University and the author of a number of books about linguistics. Prof. Landman is known for his influential work on progressives, polarity phenomena, groups, and other topics in semantics and pragmatics.
A native of Holland, Landman taught at Brown University and Cornell University before immigrating to Israel in 1993. He is married to London-born linguist Susan Rothstein. The couple has one daughter and resides in Tel Aviv.
