Faguni Ram

Faguni Ram is a political personality and an educationist. He was a member of the Rajya Sabha, the upper house of the Parliament of India representing Bihar as a member of the Indian National Congress for several terms. He became one of youngest state ministers in India. He has worked tirelessly for the all communities of his state and constituency. He is amongst the first scheduled caste person in state to hold the Ph.D. degree. His wife Dr. Sushila Das is also one of the first scheduled caste woman of Bihar to hold a Ph.D. degree. They have always stressed upon education as a mean to self-development and development of people they serve. He has authored several books of Geography. He has also served in Bihar State Administrative Services.

Political Background: He worked in close association with Sh. Sonia Gandhi and (Late) Sh. Rajiv Gandhi. He has admired the leadership of Dr. Manmohan Singh, Sh. Rahul Gandhi amongst many other in the party. He is admired across party lines for his conduct in his political and education career.

He is known to be an excellent speaker in Sanskrit, English and Hindi.
