Ernest William Taylor was a rugby union international who represented England from 1892 to 1899. He also captained his country.

Ernest William Taylor was born on 20 February 1869 in Newcastle upon Tyne.
Rugby union career
Taylor, nicknamed Little Billie, made his international debut on 6 February 1892 at Whalley Range, Manchester in the England vs Ireland match. Of the 14 matches he played for his national side he was on the winning side on 7 occasions.
He played his final match for England on 4 February 1899 at Lansdowne Road in the Ireland vs England match.
