Emrys Evans (rugby)

Emrys Evans (24 April 1911 — 23 June 1983 (aged 72)) born in Gwaun-Cae-Gurwen, Neath Port Talbot, was a Welsh dual-code international rugby union and professional rugby league footballer of the 1930s and 1940s, playing representative level rugby union (RU) for Wales, and at club level for Llanelli RFC, as a Flanker, i.e. number 6 or 7, and playing representative level rugby league (RL) for Wales, and at club level for Salford, and Wigan, as a Prop, i.e. number 8 or 10, during the era of contested scrums, he died in Bristol.

Emrys Evans won caps for Wales (RU) while at Llanelli RFC in 1937 against England, and in 1939 against Scotland, and Ireland, and won a cap for Wales (RL) while at Salford in 1945.
