Elizabeth Mestnik is an American acting coach and the LA-based director of the Elizabeth Mestnik Acting Studio who specializes in teaching the Meisner Technique.
Career
Born in Denver, Elizabeth Mestnik graduated from the Meadows School of the Arts in Dallas, TX with a BFA in Acting. Her acting career saw her play Shakespeare’s Juliette and other theatre roles on the East Coast. Several years after graduating, Mestnik began studying the Meisner Technique under Bill Esper as she earned her MFA from Rutgers University, where she also began to work as a teacher.
After moving to LA in 1999, Mestnik’s focus continued to shift from acting to directing and teaching, directing actors such as Ed Asner and Fred Savage while teaching acting at Chapman University as well as independent acting studios. In 2001, Mestnik founded the Elizabeth Mestnik Acting Studio (EMAS) in Hollywood, CA, which has been recognized for its in-depth approach to acting instruction.
