Elena Butler (born March 1986) is an American-Mexican actress and writer based in San Diego, California. She is known for her appearances in Fan-Made Music Videos (2006-2008) and South of 8 (2016) and, as a writer, for her work with collider.com.
Life and career
Elena Butler was born as Luz Elena Peña in March 1986 in Mexico.
In the years 2006-2008, she was seen in two fan-made music videos: View from Heaven and How I Go. The videos were directed by her future husband Daniel N. Butler and the songs were written by Yellowcard's singer/songwriter/guitarist Ryan Key. The music video for How I Go also carried archive footage of Helena Bonham Carter, Billy Crudup, Danny DeVito, Jessica Lange, among others.
In 2015, she was seen in a minor role as a churchgoer in director Matthew Rocca's comedy/horror film Bullets, Fangs and Dinner at 8 (starring Garrett Schweighauserand Brian Patrick Butler). The following year, she was seen portraying a background player in director Tony Olmos's crime-drama South of 8, starring Brian Patrick Butler (her brother-in-law), George Jac, and Jennifer Paredes.
Personal life
Elena is married to her husband, producer, and visual effects artist, Daniel N. Butler since July 2012. Through the marriage, she is the sister-in-law of actors Brian Patrick Butler and Michael Butler.
