Early Life:
Chengalvarayan was born on 18th October 1953 in Moodoor, a remote village in Tiruvannamalai District, Tamil Nadu. He got his B.Sc. (Mathematics) degree through Arignar Anna Government Arts College, Cheyyar (Tamil Nadu) and B.Ed. degree through Government College of Education, Vellore (Tamil Nadu). He got a job of a head clerk at a college attached to Alagappa University, Tamil Nadu in January 1977.
Career and Research:
Chengalvarayan who was placed in various administrative positions of Alagappa University upto September 2010, got his Ph.D. degree from Alagappa University in 1999.[http://shodhganga.inflibnet.ac.in/handle/10603/198423]. He pursued research in multidisciplinary areas of knowledge and published them as research papers and radio programmes on such interesting topics as
