A life of milestones: 

1. Started with humble beginnings as a worker in a jewellery factory in Nellore, South India. Without any formal education, rose as a self-made entrepreneur. Today runs one of the largest jewellery retail chain in India, Lalithaa Jewellery Mart Pvt.Ltd, with 44 showrooms across South India and an annual turnover of INR 14000+ Crores. 

2. Was among the first to introduce BIS Hallmarked Gold in the jewellery retail trade

3. Was the first jeweller to educate buyers on the nuances of buying gold jewellery through free information booklets 

4.Was awarded Honorary Doctorate by Vels University, Tamilnadu for superiority in jewel manufacture.

5.Firmly believes that hard work, transparency, fairness, and determination are essential for success in business. One of the high points of his illustrious career has been to bring down the V.A. Meteoric Growth 

From one showroom with less than 200 people in 1999, Lalithaa, under the able guidance and dynamic leadership of Dr.M.Kiran Kumar, has spread its wings and today has forty-four large format showrooms, providing direct and indirect employment to about 50000 staff across South India.

Social service by Dr.M.Kiran Kumar 

A strong believer in giving back to the society, Dr.Kiran Kumar has been actively involved in both active participation and material contribution to numerous social welfare activities over the last two decades. 

Details of donations in recent years

*Donation of INR 6 CRORES to the Governments of TN, AP & Telangana towards Covid Relief during the pandemic years 2020 and 2021

*Donation of INR 91.75 Lacs towards women’s self-reliance & empowerment to Shri Sai Prerana Bahuddeshiya Samajik Sanstha, Pune

*Donation of INR 3.1 CRORES towards AIDS research to R.K.HIV and AIDS Research & Care Centre, Mumbai in 2022 

*Construction of School in Rajasthan, India under the Lalithaa Charitable Trust

*Conducting relief camps for underprivileged and differently-abled regularly

*Conducting Relief operations every year at the time of floods, natural calamities etc and donating of Funds to the respective State Governments

*About the School for 1000 students recently constructed by Dr.M.Kiran Kumar

During a visit to his native village in the Pali district of Rajasthan, sometime in 2015, Dr.Kiran Kumar, while donating school bags & dresses to students in the local Government school, was moved by the plight of students forced to study in an open area, with the school building in a dilapidated condition. 

Fearing the building’s condition, very few students came to study. Immediately, he approached the Government and offered to undertake the construction of the school building at an outlay of 10 crore rupees. Soon he swung to action, to set up a dream school for 1000 students with high-quality infrastructure.
